A lovely and sometimes brutal slog to a summit. The scenery shifts between amazing thin breezy ironwood's to a rocky ridge hop down that is sparse, to lush mountains. This is not a hike for the easily winded or those with ankle problems. Uneven footing and rotational stepping around ridge foliage makes the approximately 7 miles feel as if it is about 14. You truly feel as if you escape civilization once you get into the undulating brush ridges and sometimes wonder if you will return before dark.....
