Climb More. Learn More. Prepare for Bigger Objectives.
Many climbers spend most of their time on single pitch routes. While there's nothing wrong with that, longer climbing objectives require a different set of skills. Efficient transitions, route management, pacing, communication, and decision making all become increasingly important as the day progresses.
Granite Mountain Mileage Day is designed to help climbers gain experience managing a full day of climbing by completing multiple two and three pitch routes throughout the Granite Basin Recreation Area. By the end of the day, participants may accumulate the equivalent of six to nine pitches of climbing while practicing the systems and efficiency required for larger objectives.
This course focuses on movement, transitions, and mileage rather than difficulty, making it an excellent stepping stone toward longer multi pitch and alpine climbing goals.
