Pool Arch is a full-day desert adventure that blends technical challenge with unforgettable scenery. Located just outside Moab, this route leads you deep into a hidden landscape of towering sandstone fins, lithified dunes, and sculpted slot canyons.

Expect a mix of hiking, scrambling, and three dramatic rappels—up to 130 feet. Along the way, you’ll encounter towering rock corridors, polished sandstone features, and incredible views of remote desert terrain. This trip is ideal for those ready to push themselves while experiencing one of the most awe-inspiring routes in the region.

Please Note
This route requires strong physical fitness, the ability to hike 5+ miles over rugged terrain, and comfort with exposure and sustained activity. It’s more demanding than our Entrajo or Bow & Arrow Canyon tours, and is best suited for adventurous participants who are up for a challenge. No prior canyoneering experience is required—just stamina, coordination, and a willingness to explore off the beaten path.

Itinerary

  • Meet at the trailhead – Directions and GPS provided after booking
  • Gear up and get oriented – Your guide will distribute equipment, review safety protocols, and introduce the day’s objectives
  • Begin the approach hike – Traverse slickrock and sandy washes with expansive views of Moab’s backcountry
  • Enter the canyon – Scramble through sandstone fins and descend into winding narrows sculpted by water and time
  • Rappel through the canyon – Tackle three thrilling rappels (up to 130 feet), including vertical walls and desert pour-offs
  • Navigate natural features – Climb over potholes, move through tight slots, and explore hidden alcoves and arch formations
  • Exit hike and final push – Hike out of the drainage and loop back toward the starting point
  • Wrap up at the trailhead – De-gear, relax, and reflect on your full-day canyon adventure

Please arrive at the meeting point 10–15 minutes before your scheduled start time. If you arrive more than 30 minutes late without prior notice, your trip may be canceled without refund.
