Intermediate Jumping Clinic
Progress your jumping skills
Are you feeling pretty comfortable on the Blue rated Jump trails with table-top shape jumps and want to learn more mid air style? Are your straight air skills looking pretty good and wonder what's next to keep progressing?
Maybe you are already hitting the jump lines but are having inconsistent outcomes. Sometimes it goes fine, but other times it feels weird and out of control.
This clinic is a great intro how to progress through some basic mid-air tricks like whips and tables. Even if you don't want to do tricks, this clinic will help you dial in your intentioanl skill applicaton depending on the size and shape of the ramp when approaching at different speeds. During the clinic, we'll focus on some of the fundamental elements of making the bike move in the air and lead you through a series of drills to build confidence and control.
Who should take this clinic:
-
Riders should be comfortable riding blue rated jump trails prior to taking this clinic. We also offer an "Intro to jumping" clinic earlier in the weekend.
-
This clinic is great for those looking for the next step after achieving some consistency on basic jumps.
-
Riders who want more refinement on their technique for different size/shape jumps.
Who are the instructors?
- Josh Whitmore - GSMBC Level 4 + Head Coach
- Kristian Jackson - GSMBC Level 4
What to expect:
-
We’ll start with an intro to listen to your previous experience and goals, then set expectations and a plan for the clinic
-
Then, we’ll move into a skills assessment and move through the essential pre-requisite skills including Body Position / Balance and creating effective “Press and Absorb” technique in an open area and on a practice jump.
-
We'll spend most of our time riding blue rated jumps with specific drills and assignments in mind to help progress your skills in an intentional and step-wise way.
