Our AIARE Level 1 Avalanche Safety Course in the Colorado Rockies offers the perfect starting point for anyone venturing into avalanche terrain. Whether you’re an experienced skier, snowboarder, or snowshoer—or new to backcountry travel—this three-day course equips you with the skills to navigate challenging environments safely and confidently.

Through a combination of classroom learning and immersive field days, you’ll explore avalanche dynamics, terrain evaluation, and decision-making frameworks while practicing critical backcountry techniques.

This course is available to all ages 12 and up. (Ages 12-14 requires parents to attend also).
