This is an 8 hour, full day course for intermediate climbers looking to level up their climbing skills and learn how to climb more independently.  In this course we will cover:

  • all the gear necessary for sport climbing
  • how to use, care for and maintain it.
  • how to tie the figure-8 follow-through knot, and a backup stopper knot
  • how to properly clip and clip into quickdraws
  • rope management when lead climbing
  • how to belay using a Petzl Grigri
  • how to use a stick clip
  • how to take a lead fall, and catch a lead fall.

You will leave this course ready to sport climb outside with confidence. This course can be taught at Rattlesnake Ridge, Dardanelle Rock, or Petit Jean State Park.
