PERSONAL CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT CHECKLIST:
At Idaho Mountain Guides, we recommend folloing the LAYERING SYSTEM, which consists of three layers: outer layer, insulating layer and base layer. Idaho weather can be wild. It can be windy, drizzly, hot, or cold. In fact, it can be all those things in one day here! However, it is likely to be warm in the afternoon but the morning can start out a bit chilly. We highly recommend you check the weather before your trip, and plan your clothing system accordingly.
Suggested Climbing Personal Equipment List
Clothing:
Base Layer:
- Long comfortable synthetic pants
- Shorts that are not too short. (harnesses already push clothing up and short shorts can make matters worse)
Insulating Layer - early season - Apil-June:
- Fleece / Down/ Fiber Filled Jacket
- Wool hate or balaclava
- Mittens or Gloves
- Synthetic Layer - polypropylene
Protective Layer:
- Wind/Rain Jacket
Footwear:
- Closed toe shoes (boots, tennis shoes, NO flip flops or sandals).
Misc:
- Sunglasses
- Sunscreen
- Toilet Paper and a ziplock baggie for packing it out
- Snacks
- Water
Cancellation Policy
We don't offer cancellations made less than 30 days before your program. Often, we will try to work with you to find a solution, but we do not guarantee solutions to your scheduling challenges. Idaho Mountain Guides reserves the right to cancel a trip due to a lack of enrollment. In such a case, a full refund is given; however, Idaho Mountain Guides is not responsible for any additional expenses incurred in preparing for the program. Exceptions to the cancellation policy are subject to a $50 dollar administrative fee.
CANCELLATIONS DUE TO NATURE
No refunds will be issued for trips impacted by acts of nature such as but not limited to hot weather, wet weather, windy weather, forest fires, and forest fire smoke. If we believe these factors will affect the safety of a program, Idaho Mountain Guides may decide to relocate or reschedule a trip. If no arrangements can be reached to relocate or reschedule a trip, the cost will be credited towards another Idaho Mountain Guides climbing adventure.
