Join Enchanted Mountain Guides in a 6-day expedition to ski the highest volcano in North America. During our 6-day expedition our professional mountain guides will cover the following curriculum:

Sample Iterinary 

Day 1 October 22, 2024

Transportation will be arranged to be picked up from CDMX International Airport (Benito Juarez) at time of arrival and be transported to the City of Puebla, Mexico. The day will be spent arranging gear, and prepping for the next day. We will be spending the night at a Hotel in the Centro Historico of Puebla within walking distance of its cultural center & attractions for night activities & Dinner. 

 

Lodging:  Casa Azulai

 

Day 2 October 23, 2024 Acclimatization on La Malinche (14,640ft)

Day will start with breakfast at 8:00am and transportation to Parque Nacional La Malinche. We will spend the day climbing to the summit of La Malinche (14,640ft). This marks the acclimatization day to increase the success likelihood to summit Pico De Orizaba. Expect to be back to the hotel between 4:00pm - 6:00pm. The rest of the day will be open to see cultural places of Puebla & Dinner.

Day 3 October 24, 2024 

This day is dedicated to traveling to the base of Pico De Orizaba. Day will start at 9:00am with breakfast and departing from the Hotel by 11:00 am. We will travel to Tlachichuca where we will be loading up our gear on 4x4s and get to the base of Pico De Orizaba. Depending on time of arrival, we will set up camp and rest for the day. 

 

Lodging: Base Camp of Orizaba in Tent

 

Day 4 October 25, 2024

Day will start with an Alpine Start. We will climb from basecamp to the summit of Pico De Orizaba. We will ski the glacier and make our ways down to the basecamp. We will then have transportation back to CDMX. 

 

Lodging: Roma Norte/La Condesa CDMX

 

Day 5 October 26, 2024

Reserved weather day in case we have to wait for the right conditions to ski Pico De Orizaba. In case we did have a successful window of weather, this day we can go for a day of climbing at Los Dinamos or have an urban tour of Mexico City.

Day 6 October 27th, 2024

Transportation to CDMX International Airport (Benito Juarez).
