Women's Intro to Jumping Clinic
Take flight with intentional skills
Have you been eyeing the great jumps at Rocky Knob and wonder: How do you even start doing that? Rather than just launching down the trail and hoping for the best, wouldn’t be awesome if you had a plan and understanding of the elemental skills needed to jump in control?
Maybe you are already hitting the jump lines but are having inconsistent outcomes. Sometimes it goes fine, but other times it feels weird and out of control.
This intro to jumping clinic is designed to teach you the skills needed to evaluate the size and shape of any jump and understand how to tweak your skill application based on your speed. “Press” and “Absorb” are the elemental skills. We’ll teach you how to do each one, when and how much to apply them. Let’s make YOU the driver in control of taking flight.
Who should take this clinic:
-
This is a women's clinic, We also offer an all-gender version the previous day.
-
This clinic is appropriate for all level riders wanting to learn to jump with more intention, control, and confidence.
-
Riders who have never had their wheels off the ground will learn proper technique to get started, get PLENTY of repeatable practice on the practice jump area, AND be able to ride some of the jumps on "Blue Dream"
-
Intermediate level jumpers will benefit from going back to basics, refining the essential fundamentals to jump with control.
Who are the instructors?
- Tiffany Litsey - PMBIA Level 2 "Air Instructor"
- Whitney Houck - PMBIA Level 2 "Air Instructor"
What to expect:
-
We’ll start with an intro to listen to your previous experience and goals, then set expectations and a plan for the clinic
-
Then, we’ll move into a skills assessment and move through the essential pre-requisite skills including Body Position / Balance and creating effective “Press and Absorb” technique in an open area and on a practice jump.
-
After some practice on a single jump, we'll aim to session some on the "Blue Dream" trail.
