About

Solo Traveler, Small Group Lesson or Private Paddle Board SUP Sessions Launching at Dog Beach in the Estero Bay Preserve.

You will join World Paddle Association Instructor, Cindy Gibson for a paddle boarding lesson experience on a paddle board adventure launching from Lee County Dog Beach on the beautiful gulf inlet at the southern tip of Lover's Key. Get closer to nature, get outside and go paddle boarding.

All adventures include  instruction from beginner to advanced. If you are not a paddle boarder yet you will be after your tour! Paddle boarding is a skill you can take on your next adventure! We will start by going over safety tips, sizing your paddle and learn the best way to get on a board. Next, in a sandy clear water area, we get on the boards and get comfortable.  On your tour you may paddle, swim, see live shells, go beach shelling or just float sitting on the boards. You may see herons, lightning whelk, sand dollars, egrets, roseate spoonbills, osprey, dolphins and  if the water is warm enough we may even see manatees. We can also stop by Dog Beach itself to enjoy the antics of the dogs at play on the beach. Cindy will personally photograph your adventure. Your guide will customize the route in accordance to the weather conditions and  your group’s experience level.

This is a great pet friendly opportunity to get your dog used to a paddle board. Dogs must wear a life jacket with a handle which helps to get them back on the paddle boards and keeps them safe. Please let us know,in advance of the SUP Session date, if you plan to bring your dog.

Kids 9 and over need to book as a paddler and will be assigned a paddle board. If you have a child under 9 please give Cindy a call to make a plan for accommodating a young paddler.

Where to Meet

Lee County Dog Beach Park, also known as Bonita Dog Beach,  just north of the New Pass Bridge between Big Hickory and on the Southern End of Lover's Key. Parking is free in the gravel parking lot on Gulf side of the road North of the bridge. Look for Dog Beach signs. At high tide there may be water over the path to walk through. This is normal and a foot deep or so at high tide. Flip Flops not advised. Strap sandals or water shoes are better for getting to the launch area. There is still beach at the end!

You may call Cindy at 239-494-0875 for more information and to plan a special date to paddle that fits both your schedules
