3hr Private Lesson at Ride Kanuga Bike Park with Head Coach Josh Whitmore

Use this booking for any lesson with Josh at Kanuga. Topics could include: Green, Blue, Black rated trail riding, Jumps or Drops. All Private lessons are fully custom designed based on the goals and ability of the client.

Who will be my instructor?

This lesson is with Head Coach - Josh Whitmore, a certified Level 3 “Air and Tech Instructor” through the PMBIA. Josh has been teaching mountain bike lessons since the late 90's and is one of the most experienced, certified, and capable coaches in the world. Josh teaches mountain bikes full-time, year-round. In addition to teaching private lessons and group clinics for MTB Skills Factory, Josh also trains other mountain bike coaches by offering staff training and professional development for skills schools, bike parks, and summer camps. He is the most active instructor-trainer for the PMBIA, conducting 15-18 certification courses per year for Levels 1-3.

Level 2 or Level 3 PMBIA Air Instructors have gone through specific training and evaluation on teaching jumps and drops. This ensures they follow proven teaching techniques, excellent risk management, and ability to offer accurate feedback to help you progress in a safe, intentional, and controlled way.

 

What to expect:

We’ll start by listening to your specific goals, do a skills assessment to understand your current ability, then design a custom lesson that will help you reach your goals. We typically do an assessment and possible makeover with some fundamentals in the grass field or practice jumps / drops in our skills area. Then we start practicing and applying on the trails! Expect LOTS of practice time, drills, and plenty of feedback/video analysis to help you progress.
