About Jayson Simons-Jones
This is a company born from over 25 years of living life amidst the mountain and desert environments of the world, and it is built solely out of our passion and desire of wanting to share with you the wild places and experiences that have shaped who and what we are as human beings today. We endeavor to provide our clients with unparalleled and intimate personal experiences in the varied disciplines of Rock, Alpine, Ski, & Ice in the mountain environment, and to foster experiences that make us learn and grow as people along the way.
Lotus Alpine Adventures, Owner, Jayson comes from a long background and varied career in the outdoor and guiding industry. He started his career working in outdoor education at such places as the Colorado Outward Bound School; WMI of NOLS; Cornell University’s Outdoor Education Program, and the Colorado Mountain College; also along with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Ithaca College in Outdoor Education, he is able to bring a practical understanding and application of, not just high level guiding, but also instruction and facilitation in the mountain environment.
Complementing these foundational skills, Jayson was first a guide and then the Owner/Operator of Crested Butte Mountain Guides from 2007 to 2014. Along the way worked through the professional mountain guide training curriculum at the American Mountain Guides Association, and in 2014 became the 95th American to earn his IFMGA/UIAGM certification.
Custom Climbing Options
One of the greatest things about rock climbing is that we get to engage with it however we see fit. From bouldering to top roping to sport climbing to trad climbing and multi-pitch climbing there is no wrong way to enjoy the sport. If you have a specific route or objective you'd like to climb let us know and we can make it happen. If there is a specific topic or skill you want to learn we can do that as well.
Based on the principles of experiential education, we firmly believe in the practical component of learning a new skill. Certainly skills as important as proper climbing techniques. Most outings balance a combination of physical activity and education to help you achieve your mountain goals.
