The AIARE 2 is designed to provide students with new tools to target uncertainty and build undeveloped skills. It builds on the risk management process students learned in AIARE 1 as well as their subsequent experience in the backcountry using the AIARE Framework.
Emphasis will be on a feedback loop for group leadership and implementing the framework into your groups trip plan and execution. Field weather observations, snowpack data collection and analysis will be coached and established as a primary objective for the field days and learning outcomes. Gathering data and observations that will be submitted to the local avalanche forecast center will conclude the learning objectives after the debriefing discussion at the end of the day.
