Located just north of LA on BLM land that borders the boundary of the Angeles National Forest, lies an ancient group of monolithic crags made up of conglomerate sandstone. These towering crags in the Boquet Canyon, once formed the bed of an ancient mudstone bed, uplifted and eroded over a few eons, eventually carving deep canyons and corridors.
This type of rock is textured by pebbles and pockets and feels like raw, un-finished concrete.
Over the past few decades, sport routes have been established to make this a popular sport climbing destination for local LA climbers.
