The guided nighttime float fishing trip is perfect for the adventurous angler in search of catching a fish of a lifetime. “Mouse Fishing” is a fly fishing technique where you use flies that imitate mice and you strip them across the water. As if the mice are swimming across the water. Trout will come from the depths to ambush the mice on the surface. Be sure to check out VVA guide’s Mike Salmone’s blog for more information on mouse fishing.
Typically this float fishing trip lasts around five hours. With start times right around sunset, you get the opportunity to fish the sunset throwing some dry flies for rising trout. As the sun sets and it begins to get dark, the mouse fishing begins. Our professional guides will position the boat and direct you to cast in areas where the predatory fish live.Throwing streamers for trout is also an option on the nighttime trip. Big predatory fish typically are nocturnal feeders so be ready for the fish of a lifetime. The float trip does conclude in the middle of the night so be sure to be prepared for a longer night out on the water.
