Refunds
Refunds are issued if you cancel a week or more in advance. If you cancel in under a week, you may only reschedule an existing tour.
Weather Cancelations:
I don’t cancel tours unless we are told to stay home by the Mayor or Governor due to extreme weather. In that case, I will send an email and text 24 hours in advance should I need to cancel.
It is windy here; it rains, it snows….we carry on and come prepared for the weather. If you would prefer to change to a different day and I have bookings for that day you can move your reservation.
If I am forced to cancel due to the weather, I will refund your money. If you decide not to attend due to weather- you can move your reservation, or I will honor your reservation on a future visit.
What you can expect from us:
Masks are not required outside, but please have one handy for when we go into spaces for the restroom or to get out of the weather for a bit.
All tours will remain outside until all restrictions within the city are lifted.

Ellen was amazing! The day we scheduled the tour it was 35 degrees out with 50 mph winds. Ellen adjusted and popped us in and out of historic buildings along the way to keep us from freezing. She kept my 4 kids engaged for 2 hours and never missed a beat. Very interesting tour and I learned a lot about early colonial America. Highly recommend!!!

We had friends come into Boston from out of state. They wanted to do a Freedom Trail tour. My husband and I have lived in Boston for two years and did other tours. NONE compared to Ellen’s. Her passion, humor and the way she organized her thoughts and use of materials was so helpful (not boring, but thorough) and gave us a solid understand of things. Even us locals!! Lol The time flew by and we left with some fascinating history that other tours never touched! Even the bathroom break was among historical information! Thank you Ellen!! You are our designated “to go to tour guide” from this point forward!

I was looking for a guided tour that talked about Boston's history without all of the gimmicks and found it with Ellen and her company, Boston by Ellen. She was waiting for us at the assigned location and couldn't have been more friendly. Her tour was a wonderful mix of historical facts mixed with trivia that I'd never heard before. This was an enjoyable two hour walking tour of historical Boston.

We learned so much, loved her stories! She presented the history tour chronologically and made it engaging and interesting! Later we did a trolley ride that only pointed out locations, but not the stories that really brought history in Boston to life! Highly recommend!

Ellen was a very courteous and knowledgeable host. She made the tour interesting but always with a bit of fun. Not much walking involved but the time went very quickly, always a sign of a good experience. Well worth the cost and would recommend to everybody interested in seeing and understanding a primary part of American history.
