While it's a great locals spot for rock climbing in the summer once the temperatures drop a few ice climbs form that make for a great opportunity for beginner ice climbers. Tucked up in the pine trees on the edge of Colorado Springs in the southern Front Range the canyon winds up the road to a couple small waterfalls that reliably form once winter solidly sets in. While mostly beginner climbs there are some mixed climbs and a multipitch climb that makes for a good venue to learn to ice climb or improve one's technique and skills.

Owing to low elevation and limited snow this can be a more pleasant location for weather and avalanches are very unlikely to be of concern. While not every climb is reliable in warm or dry seasons there is enough reliable climbing for beginners to learn the basics in any season and more advanced climbers in wet seasons.
