Private Mixed Climbing

Ouray, Colorado

Group Size

Duration

8 hours

As you progress through your ice climbing career, you will start looking around the Ouray Ice Park, see the beautiful ice formations guarded by rock sections, and think to yourself, “WOW, I want to learn how to climb THAT!” Welcome to the world of mixed climbing, where we combine our ability to ice climb with calm precision to hook onto rock edges and cracks. Mixed climbing skills are essential for alpine climbing, bigger mountain climbing, and hard ice. However, it’s also it’s entirely own discipline of climbing! So whether you’re training for bigger objectives or pursuing it for it’s own art-form, mixed-climbing is an incredibly fun adventure.

We custom-tailor your day to meet your goals; everyone from novices, climbers prepping for classic routes such as Ham and Eggs, to world-cup competitors dialing in their ability to prepare for Ouray's Ice Fest Competition have sought out instruction from Basecamp Ouray’s guides. Mixed climbing does require a higher level of fitness to fully enjoy your day (think intermediate to advanced ice), so if you have any questions about your ability to participate, please give us a call at 970-318-8104 or email info@basecampouray.com.

Our standard meeting time is 7:30am for gear fitting, but we do have flexibility because this is your private day. You can establish an exact meeting time that works for you with your guide for the day.
