Join Sarah Herron, Ability Advocate and Adventurer,  Lindsay Gurley, Professional Life Coach and Adventure Guide, and San Juan Expeditions (USFS Permit holders) for a weekend of empowerment in the backcountry as we backpack in one of the remote wilderness areas in southern Colorado. Imagine taking the train from Durango and being dropped off in the middle of the Weminuche Wilderness to  hike around towering peaks, camp under the stars, and build confidence in yourself and in the outdoors. We will spend four days and three nights in the backcountry as we hike to high alpine lakes, big vistas, and more. This is for anyone who identifies as female and is ready for an epic adventure.

If you are ready to build confidence in your body, your mind, and in your backpacking/adventure capabilities then this is the trip for you. If you want someone to cook your meals, carry your bag, and do all the hard work, then this trip is definitely not for you. You have to be willing to show up, carry your load, and try your best. We, as a group, will of course be there for one another and you have to be willing to face what comes up with your best effort! We will walk far, move through the water, take in the sights, purify our water from the creek, laugh our asses off, be courageous, and create an epic community of women who want more adventure in life.

This trip will be a smaller group. We are stewards of the beautiful places we visit and feel a smaller group is better for the landscape, as well as better for the group’s movement, camping, and overall experience. There are only 10 spots available.

Here’s the deal—we have to be real, this is not going to be a walk in the park, but it’s not going to be as hard as trekking Kilaminjaro.

In order to join, you have to be able to walk at least 8 miles a day with a 40 pound pack on. If you can't lift a 40 - 50 lb bag, there will be different adventures in the future. And if you don't already have backpacking dialed, you are going to learn how to Leave No Trace, store your food, shit in the woods (well really in a bag that you will carry out), cook backcountry meals for yourself, pacing yourself... and the list goes on. The key element, you are going to be doing it! You have to be willing to learn and willing to carry your weight!
