***UPDATED COVID-19 POLICY***
We'll notify participants on a case-by-case basis if anything changes with a course or trip they have registered for.
To provide customers with flexibility and peace of mind, we are currently waiving our 48-hour cancellation requirement, should you wish to cancel or transfer due to COVID-19 health or safety concerns—or for any reason at all. You can cancel through contacting [email protected]
If GMG cancels for any reason, you will receive a full refund, but please note: bad weather does not mean automatic cancellation. We’ll always notify you if your course or trip has been canceled.
Cancellation by the Participant
YOU MAY CANCEL YOUR TRIP FOR A FULL REFUND AT ANY TIME UP TO 48-HOURS PRIOR TO THE COURSE OR TRIP START DATE, otherwise your payment will be forfeited according to the following schedule. Inside of 48-hrs you may cancel the trip at any time up until 24-hrs prior to the course or trip start date retaining a full credit for a future course or trip, less a 25% rebooking fee. Cancellation within 24-hrs of a course or the trip start date will result in the issuing of a credit for a future trip minus a 50% rebooking fee, so please consider purchasing travel insurance if you think short notice cancellation is a possibility. No refunds for weather-related delays or weather-related changes in trip itineraries. No credits or refunds for no-shows or those opting to leaving early.
Cancellation by Granite Mountain Guides
In rare circumstances, we may need to cancel a scheduled course or trip. Granite Mountain Guides reserves the right to cancel any course or trip for any reason, at any time. Typically cancellations by Granite Mountain Guides are the result of either extreme weather conditions, unavailability of instructors/guides (e.g. illness), or the inability to gather enough participants to run a course. In such cases, all participants who have signed up and paid deposits or full-trip payments will first be offered a 100% credit towards a future course or trip with Granite Mountain Guides. If that is not able to be agreed upon, participants will be refunded their payment, less any applicable credit card transaction fees incurred by Granite Mountain Guides as a consequence of processing credit card transactions. We cannot refund travel arrangements (e.g. airline flights, rental cars, etc.) which is why we strongly recommend travel insurance.
Our precautions for COVID-19
What you can expect from us:
Participants, guides and instructors will perform health screenings prior to the event, evaluating any possible COVID-19 symptoms or exposure. On the day of the scheduled course or trip, participants will again be asked about any symptoms or exposure and may have their temperatures checked. We also require all employees to check themselves for COVID-19 symptoms before each shift and to stay home if they feel unwell.
Participants, guides and instructors will be required to wear CDC-recommended face coverings at all times. When physical distancing is possible, there may be exceptions made during strenuous activities. While being worn, all face coverings must fully cover the nose and mouth. Face coverings made of mesh or other loosely knit fabric are not permitted.
Gear and equipment intended to be used by one person for the duration of the outing will be issued on an individual basis. Everything gets cleaned and disinfected after each outing, or will be regularly sanitized throughout, depending on its use.
Small Group Sizes
Granite Mountain Guides courses and trips have always been designed for smaller groups. Because of the pandemic, we are further reducing group sizes and encouraging more private group bookings. Smaller groups let us spread out more during meals/breaks and activities.
Whether on the trail or on the rock, guides will support physical distancing between participants during activities whenever possible. Even while physically distanced from one another, participants must wear face coverings except during very strenuous activities away form the guides or other participants.
