The local single-pitch crag has been treating you well, but there's these photos you've seen of long, enduring routes in beautiful landscapes. Let Granite Mountain Guides help you reach those goals!
Our two-day Multi-Pitch Climbing Course is designed for those who have had the opportunity to climb outdoors in the single-pitch environment. Whether you are familiar with Sport Climbing or Traditional Climbing, this course can be tailored to suit your goals. It is all-encompassing and starts off with the re-examination of anchors and then proceeds into top-belay methods. Then it focuses on efficient multi-pitch techniques and stance management. From there it finishes with the fundamental, necessary skills of how to either retreat or self-rescue in case an incident were to occur while on-route.
This course does not include instruction on how to lead climb or place traditional gear. If you wish to learn the skills of placing traditional gear or lead climbing, please look at our other course options available.

Cancellation by Granite Mountain Guides
In rare circumstances, we may need to cancel a scheduled course or trip. Granite Mountain Guides reserves the right to cancel any course or trip for any reason, at any time. Typically cancellations by Granite Mountain Guides are the result of either extreme weather conditions, unavailability of instructors/guides (e.g. illness), or the inability to gather enough participants to run a course. In such cases, all participants who have signed up and paid deposits or full-trip payments will first be offered a 100% credit towards a future course or trip with Granite Mountain Guides. If that is not able to be agreed upon, participants will be refunded their payment, less any applicable credit card transaction fees incurred by Granite Mountain Guides as a consequence of processing credit card transactions. We cannot refund travel arrangements (e.g. airline flights, rental cars, etc.) which is why we strongly recommend travel insurance.
Our precautions for COVID-19
What you can expect from us:
Health Assessment
Participants, guides and instructors will perform health screenings prior to the event, evaluating any possible COVID-19 symptoms or exposure. On the day of the event, participants will again be asked about any symptoms or exposure and may have their temperatures checked. We also require all employees to check themselves for COVID-19 symptoms before each shift and to stay home if they feel unwell.
Face Coverings
For the safety of our Clients and Guides, CDC-recommended face coverings are recommended at various times throughout each experience based upon the current Covid-19 Comunity Levels. Fully vaccinated guests may still need to mask up in certain situations. While being worn, all face coverings must fully cover the nose and mouth. Face coverings made of mesh or other loosely knit fabric are not permitted Face coverings made of mesh or other loosely knit fabric are not permitted.
Sanitized Equipment
Gear and equipment intended to be used by one person for the duration of the outing will be issued on an individual basis. Everything gets cleaned and disinfected after each outing, or will be regularly sanitized throughout, depending on its use.
Small Group Sizes
Granite Mountain Guides courses and trips have always been designed for smaller groups. Because of the pandemic, we are further reducing group sizes and encouraging more private group bookings. Smaller groups let us spread out more during meals/breaks and activities.
Physical Distancing
Whether on the trail or on the rock, guides will support physical distancing for unvaccinated participants during activities whenever possible.
