Tyler Howe

About me

Born and raised in Seattle, WA, Tyler grew up in the rugged mountains of the Casacades where he found his love for all things climbing. With multiple Rainier summits, a successful expedition to Denali, and numerous other alpine climbs under his belt, Tyler is no stranger to big mountains. He now spends much of his time exploring the mountains of Colorado, climbing a great mix of all disciplines from sport to trad to alpine ice and mixed. This past season he competed for the USA Ice Climbing Team in Ouray for the Ice Fest and North American Championships, as well as the Ice Climbing World Championships in Saas-Fee, Switzerland. 

Aside from the personal excitement of climbing, Tyler is also deeply passionate about sharing the beauty and fun of the mountains with others. As a board member of the Alpine Club at the University of Colorado Boulder, Tyler leads rock and ice climbing trips for students of all levels of experience. He is excited to be guiding with Basecamp as it provides the opportunity to be a part of many people's exciting and new experiences in the mountains!
